What Foreclosure Prevention Advocates Should Know About Bankruptcy

Michelle Michelle November 04, 2021

Not surprisingly, foreclosure advocates routinely encounter complex bankruptcy issues while representing a homeowner in a foreclosure action. “What Foreclosure Prevention Advocates Should Know about Bankruptcy” will not only provide a broad overview of bankruptcy law as it applies to foreclosure actions but will take an in-depth look at the similarities and differences between Chapter 13 and 7 bankruptcies, provide the context for analyzing which chapter may apply in a particular case, as well as discuss how prior and new bankruptcy filings impact a pending foreclosure, including the use of “automatic stays.” Attendees will leave with the tools they need to understand the basics of bankruptcy law, including most importantly how, and to what extent, a bankruptcy can help a homeowner in foreclosure.  This training was recorded on 11/4/2021. All information presented was current at the time of recording.
