Opening the Shelter Doors for LGBTQ Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence

Kristi Khughes December 16, 2015

Join Empire Justice for a previously recorded webinar (12/16/2015) to review a clarifying administrative directive issued on October 16 2015 by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) for all of New York’s licensed and approved domestic violence residential and non-residential programs about legal and funding-related non-discrimination mandates.  As a result of this landscape-altering guidance, most domestic violence programs statewide will now be making their core services and other programming more welcoming and available to LGBTQ survivors of intimate partner violence and abuse.  This CLE is intended to assist civil legal services providers in understanding this directive and its intended impact on the LGBTQ survivors they serve.

NOTE:  This program is not appropriate for domestic violence programs looking for specific information about their requirements under this directive.
