Jessica Radbord joined Empire Justice Center in February of 2021 as a Senior Benefits Attorney in the Public Benefits Unit in Empire Justice Center’s Albany Office.
Prior to joining Empire Justice, Jessica practiced law in Vermont for over a decade, in the areas of public benefits, eviction defense and subsidized housing law, and disaster assistance. Jessica has represented hundreds of low-income clients in court and administrative proceedings, and recently served as counsel in a case filed as a class action on behalf of persons with disabilities experiencing homelessness in Vermont District Court. She served on the Vermont Farm Bill Coalition, the 2022 Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization housing title workgroup, and Vermont’s 2021 pandemic-related emergency housing workgroup.
She was awarded the Vermont Bar Association President’s Distinguished Service Award and was honored to be a guest at the White House to celebrate passage of the VAWA Reauthorization. She has provided continuing legal education sessions and advocate trainings through the Vermont Bar Association, Legal Services Vermont, Hunger Free Vermont, the Vermont Office of Economic Opportunity, the Vermont Network to End Domestic Violence, and the Vermont Housing Managers Association.
Jessica is a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia Law School. At Columbia, Jessica was a Stone Scholar and Kent Scholar for academic honors, was awarded a Revson Fellowship, and was recipient of a dean’s award for her public service.
