Jim Dukette is a Senior Program Manager for Empire Justice Center’s Anchor Partner program for the NYS Office of the Attorney General’s Homeowner Protection Program (HOPP). In that role, Jim oversees the grants and provides training, technical assistance, and support to 42 non-profit housing counseling agencies statewide.
Jim joined Empire Justice after being a legal services client and volunteer intern, and worked as a Paralegal assisting homeowners in default and foreclosure for seven years before joining the HOPP Anchor Partner Team. Jim is active in the NYS Equity Agenda Coalition and Rochester Public Banking Coalition, as well as New Yorkers for Responsible Lending (NYRL) and the Greater Rochester Reinvestment Coalition.
Jim has lifelong commitment to racial and economic justice and combines his professional and life experience to bring a lens of equity and inclusion to all his work. Jim chaired the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee at Empire Justice from 2018-2022 and continues to be an active member. In addition, Jim is engaged in a number of community housing and economic justice initiatives including serving on the Monroe County Vacant and Abandoned Property Advisory Committee, the Flower City Habitat for Humanity Mortgage Review Committee, the Board of Directors of the Rochester Housing Development Fund Corporation. He was also a former Co-Chair of the Access to Counsel Subcommittee of the Monroe County Justice 4 All Housing Working Group, and on the RASE Commission Housing Working Group.
Jim earned a B.S. in Psychology from Union College.
