Conrad v. PeralesWestern New York Legal Counsel for the Elderly and a private law firm sue the State for unlawful confiscation of income from poor, elderly nursing home residents. GULP joins in 2000. The State agrees to repay $16.8 million to class of 8,000. They reverse themselves in 1998 saying they owe nothing to anybody. The defendants destroy evidence of wrongdoing.
