New Resource: Public Charge and Immigrant Eligibility for Public Benefits

Empire Justice Center and The New York Immigration Coalition are happy to announce a new resource for service providers supporting noncitizens in accessing public benefits.

Public Charge and Immigrant Eligibility for Public Benefits is a chart that maps out noncitizen eligibility for a number of federal and New York State benefits, and which of those could potentially have public charge implications. This resource builds upon and updates the information in prior Empire Justice tools regarding non-citizen access to benefits, and overlays implications of the new Department of Homeland Security regulation defining public charge inadmissibility.
