CELEBRATION OF LEADERSHIP 2018

What a wonderful evening full of gratitude, laughter, and appreciation for Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein and Empire Justice Center’s Celebration of Leadership! We want to thank everyone who made the night a success – our supporters, our sponsors, and our friends. Special appreciation goes out to our Lead Law Firm sponsor, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP.

For those who were unable to attend, we honored Helene for her groundbreaking work as a legislative leader and her unyielding support of civil legal services and the Empire Justice Center. We joined together to celebrate Helene’s impact on critical issues ranging from programs and services for victims and survivors of domestic violence to her work on foreclosure protections and her efforts to secure stable statewide funding for legal services.

We were delighted to have the Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus, Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes help confer the honors and to recognize Helene’s trailblazing role in creating the caucus as a space for women legislators in both houses and both parties to come together on issues of mutual concern.

More than 100 people joined us throughout the evening, helping to raise more than $48,000 to help Empire Justice make the law work for all New Yorkers, especially those who need its protection the most.
